About World on Fire Department
Our Mission
PEST (People’s Equipment Supply Team), founded in 2016, supports ecological and social justice movements in practical, hands-on ways.
Our current project, the “World On Fire Department Fire Engine,” supports demonstrations with huge banners and a platform for speakers and musicians.
We project messages (light images) at nighttime rallies and marches.
In our first project (2016-17) we transformed two school buses into medical bunk buses for the medical center at the encampment of water protectors at the Standing Rock.
Groups the World on Fire Engine have supported include: The Backbone Campaign, Portland Action Brigade; Black Lives Matter; Columbia River Keeper; Don't Shoot Portland; Extinction Rebellion PDX; Healthcare Workers for Palestine PDX; Portland Indivisible; Jewish Voice for Peace PDX; Legacy Nurses (Oregon Nurses Association); Oregon Wild; Portland Association of Teachers; Portland Contra Las Deportaciones, and Third Act Oregon.
